GET IN OR GET ON

Than this article is for you....It will help you clear all your doubts about which one to use

Even I use to get confused a lot before but now I have got some tricks and rules
which will help you figure out which one to use and when

Memorizing it is the best way to learn them but there are few rules which will never let you forget it

GET IN

we use 'get in' for
Car's, Van's, Taxis
This are small vehicles which are usually closed and
can carry very less number of people around

GET ON

we use 'get on' for

Bike, motorcycles, Bus, airplane, boat

a) When you get on a top of something

you can say get on the Bike, motorcycles
and
b) When it is  big vehicle that carries a large number of people on it and there is a space to roam around ....
you can say get on Bus, airplane, boat

For small boats you can say get in the boat as well

Now lets understand it with few examples

let's assume
You and your friend are waiting for the cab......and taxi arrives
what will you say

Get in the car before we get late.
or
Get on the car before we get late.

Get in is the correct way to say as the car is a small vehicle and can carry few people
.
.
let's assume
You and your friend are on a vacation and you decide to go for Jet skiing
 What will You say

Come on get on it will be fun.
or
Come on get in It will be fun.

"Come on get on it will be fun"
is the correct way to say as you are getting on top of it
.
.
so now you are going to enter the bus and you receive a call what will u say

Hello! give me a minute i'll get on the bus and call you back
.
.
While indicating the location we follow the same rule.
I'm on the Bus/train/ Airplane
and
I'm in the car/taxi/van
.
.
We say get off in opposite of get on and
get out is the opposite of Get in

So this is my stop, I will get off here
(Here the person is in Bus)
.
.
Please get out of my car
(Here the person is in the car)
.
.
James reached his destination(finished his Journey) on the bus now he need to _________ the bus.
A) getoff  B) get out  C)take off
(Comment below with your answer)

So it will be
Get in ....car/bus vans/lorries/small boats/trucks
and
Get on ....Bus/airplane/boat/trucks/bike/cycle/jet skies

let look at some more sentences
- Just get in the car
-I will get off the plane and call you back
- I just got on/boarded the Train
You need to get on the boat to start your journey

Looking at the examples I hope you understood the difference between Get in vs Get on
