Today I am going to cover some idioms and their meaning with example sentences 
which we can use in our day to day life

Don't forget to practice it in your day to day life and now when you hear it you will know the meanings .....

So let's start with today's idioms



1. Out of Blue
When things happen suddenly and unexpectedly you can use this phrase 

- One day out of blue he came and asked me about that trip

- Out of blue she sent me that message

2. Pull yourself together
Now this one means to control your feelings/emotions and start working again.
In simple words calming down and behaving normally after an upsetting event

like when you are in a situation where you feel like crying but you have to work at that time this idiom works (Why are you crying over that? Pull yourself together it's a long way to go)

- It is difficult for her to pull herself together after her break up

-She pulled herself together and happily participated in the event

- I know it's difficult for you, but you need to pull yourself together as we have to submit the assignment by midnight. 


3. Call the shots
It simply means to study
When someone is in charge and controls the situation

- Why do you always have to call the shots


- He said in his house, His wife call the shots

4. Many moons ago 
it simply means long time ago

- aaah that was many moon ago

- I took this picture many moons ago


- Look at that picture, when I got that degree many moons ago

5. C
all it a day
Call it a day means to stop working for the day 

- Let's call it a day it was a tiring day today.

- My boss has a authority to call it a day


6.Hang in there
When someone say Hang in there it simply means not to give you mostly in difficult times in tough circumstances


- Hang in there, we can do this, it's just a tough phase


Hang in there everybody I know it's difficult to work from home

7. That’s the last straw
Like when there is a series of bad things happening and this one is the latest in the list you can call it the last straw the one that is most difficult to handle and give up

When you are out of patience you can use this idiom

- When he broke the last glass of the window that was the last straw I was not able to control myself

- The last straw was when he started shouting at him.


- Stop making excuse, this is the last straw, I m done talking you.

8. A dime a dozen
When something is more common you can use this phrase

- Books on this topic are a dime a dozen, But your way of explanation makes you unique

- Ideas on starting a new business are a dime a dozen nowadays
