Difference Between May and Might

It sound really simple but yet its a little confusing while we use this to words

May and Might

This is the most common error, we usually make and get confused with while using it.

May is used to ask permission, month, give permission to

someone and possibility.
Here today we are going to cover the possibility use may and might

"It may rain today"
or
"It Might rain today"

AND

"We may go for Movie today"
or
"We might go for a movie today"

both looks correct right let's see which one to use.

May is used When the possibility is more and you are more sure about the possibility

any Might in use when there are less chance of the possibility to happen.

let us look at the example to understand it better.

Assume there is dark out there and there is a more possibility of raining today what should your mom say if she wants you to take the umbrella.
She should say

It may rain today, don't forget to take your umbrella

May and Might are often interchangeable but when you want to be specific you need to use it properly

Lets see some more examples

I may stop by your place today

"Here there are more chances that i may stop by"

I Might stop by your place today

"Here there are less chances that i might stop by"

He might have called earlier, but I was not at home. (Past tense)

"Here there are less chances"

Anna may have gone to France, she might go to London.

Here there is STRONG POSSIBILITY of Anna to be in France and REMOTE POSSIBILITY to go to London.

Looking at the examples i hope you understand the difference between MAY and MIGHT so now you can use it in your own sentences without any confusion.
