1. Pretend
When someone behaves as if something is true when he know that it is not it is called pretending.
Especially in order to deceive people or as a game like 
buffing.


Where some one claims something to be true even though it is something that is false.
In Hindi we say "नाटक"

You can use it this way
1. They all pretended as if nothing happened in front of the kid.
2. Mr x pretend as if he did not see us.
3. I can't pretend to be your friend any more.


2.Obsolete
When something is out of date or no longer produced it is called obsolete
When something out dated and is replaced by something newer and more better it is called obsolete product
In simple words "old, old fashioned and outdated"
You can use it this way
1. So many equipment became obsolete in last few years.
2. We have decided to introduce fresh designs as so many designs got obsolete.
3. Most of the new mobile launched last year got obsolete when new technology was introduced.


3. Barely
Barely means just only or almost not.
When someone says he had to barely pay any rent it means it little a very small amount of rent.
You can use it this way
1. You barely had something, please have something. Don't feel shy!
2. She barely spoke anything.
3. After paying all are expensive we barely saved something.


4.By my side
When someone is always by your side supporting you in all your work you can say thank you for being by my side.
In corporate world you can thank your co worker for being on your side.
You can use it this way
1. She has always been by my side even when i was going through tough face
2. Thank you all for being by my side.
3. Mr.x my friend was always by my side even when my own family members left me.

5.Show off
When someone intends to display one's abilities or accomplishments which other people proudly and boastfully is called showing off
You can use it this way
1. He was just showing off.
2. She was showing off her new jewelry
